Now that Halloween is over, like many retailers, Disney has decked the parks out for Christmas. Disney has a lot of holiday activities and decorations but Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is at the top of the list.
The Magic Kingdom will transform into a Christmas wonderland 18 times this year for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. There are many special events that occur including:

Castle Dream Lights
- Complimentary cookies and hot cocoa
- Special firework display
- Snow on Main Street, U.S.A.
- Character greetings throughout the Park
- Belle’s Enchanted Christmas Story
- Mickey’s Once Upon A Christmastime Parade with Santa as the grand finale
- Mickey’s T’was the Night Before Christmas
- Celebrate the Season show
- Castle Dream Lights
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas party is a “hard ticket” event, meaning you have to purchase a special ticket for this event separate from regular park passes. The Magic Kingdom closes early on event days and the party takes place from 7p.m. - Midnight. The most popular attractions are also open during this event. There are a limited number of tickets, which makes the park less crowded. Tickets for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas party are $55.95 plus tax (Ages 10 and up) and $49.95 plus tax (Ages 3-9). Advanced purchase tickets are available for select nights at $48.95 plus tax (Ages 10 and up) and $42.95 plus tax (Ages 3-9). Children under 3 are free. Advanced purchase tickets can be purchased
online or via phone at 407-WDISNEY.
So is it worth paying extra to attend Mickey’s special party? If you have it in your budget and have never been I would recommend it. The less crowded park is a nice advantage; you should be able to ride all the rides you want during the party while still enjoying the special activities. Plus you can see more characters without as long of a wait. The parade and fireworks are spectacular and can only be seen at these parties.
If you can’t justify spending the extra cash then don’t. The holiday decorations will be up during the parks regular hours so you won’t miss out those. The main things you will miss are the parade, fireworks, and snow on Main Street.
Tips for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party:
- Check the show times to make sure you don’t miss anything
- Visit the big attractions while the first showing of the parade is going on
- Don’t miss the fireworks
- Most people go the first parade so the second one is less crowded.
- Grab a snack and get to Main Street early to get a good curb side seat for the second parade
- Save Character visits for later in the evening when the younger children are tired and heading home
- Enjoy the snow on Main Street!
